Smartphone E-Waste Association (SEWA) is a non-profit organization founded to laser focus on the growing problem of e-waste and the increasing ‘digital divide'. We are providing simple solutions to help individuals and organizations prevent operational equipment from premature destruction. Our mission is to encourage people to recycle and reduce e-waste. We believe that with proper education and better recycling habit we will create better world and healthier life style.

Nowadays there is so much gadgets being created and much people afford to buy gadgets especially smartphones. Smartphones have been widely used but at the same time have create much more e-waste whenever people start to buy new smartphone model and throwing the old phone to the landfill instead of trade-in to other gadget store or recycle to the recycling center. E-waste is much more dangerous than we think as they contain more toxins and endanger everyone and environment. We are here to develop, to share and to encourage people to reduce e-waste with the power of education and awareness.

With a focus on recovery, refurbishment, and reuse, SEWA continuously supplies charitable groups with donated smartphones while securely managing the retiring smartphone assets of organizations and individuals across Malaysia. We believe that reuse before recycling is critical in reducing the waste created by smartphone hardware, and by offering industry-leading data destruction for all smartphones we receive, we have securely repurposed hundreds of tons of smartphones. Because not everything SEWA receives can be reasonably repurposed, we have partnered with certified recycling organizations to process devices that have reached the end of its productive life.

The SEWA (Smartphone E-Waste Association), is focused on reducing unnecessary waste and/or environmental impact through effective management of retiring smartphone. As a non-profit organization with deep community roots, our “reuse” focus and donation activities set us apart from others in this sector.

Individuals and organizations move through technology hardware for several reasons, and there is often ongoing productive use. The SEWA believes that “reuse” where ever possible is the most ecological approach to this growing stream, and an excellent way to compel real community goodwill at the same time. The Smartphone E-Waste Association has a clear mission of reducing electronic waste through smartphone recycling and donation services.
